Happy Birthday...
Born at 2.14pm today, Friday 20 January 2006.
Birth weight 7lbs 3oz (3.27 kg).
After a bit of a wait (we were up at 4am, and at the hospital for 7am), Anne finally went down to the anaesthetic room at around midday. It took two goes to get her epidural to take, but eventually the surgeons kicked off, and before long we had this little treasure to hold! I was very emotional when the midwife gave him to me to hold, I don't mind saying. An experience like nothing else.
Mum is currently recovering well, and will probably spend 3-5 days in hospital. Little Samuel is a real cutie, and was extremely well behaved while being prodded and poked all afternoon by various medical staff.
More news and pictures will no doubt be posted soon. Right, I'm off to get some sleep myself, before heading back to the hospital tomorrow.
I remember I was at hosp also for 7am prior to my caesarean-alas there were many emergencies and eventually at 10pm the surgeon(in a bloodstained outfit!)said I could choose to go to theatre then or wait till the next day.
Rosie was born at 8.40am the following day!!!
